Antifreeze and summer coolant

Optimum Oils Ltd supplies three grades of anti freeze and summer coolant. Antifreeze HD; Calguard 48 and Calfrost.

All grades can be supplied in a neat form or pre mixed with 50% demineralised water. This mix rate will prevent ice crystal formation down to -37°C.

The use of demineralised water is recommended to prevent calcium salt build up, resulting in blockage in the water routes, hoses and radiator.

Antifreeze HD

A high performance coolant additive which is methanol free and when used at the recommended mix of 50% will protect against freezing and corrosion. Antifreeze HD exceeds the requirements of BS 6580-1992 and is suitable for all Euro 111, 1V and V engines.

Calguard 48

An upgraded BS6580 engine coolant using monoethylene glycol chemistry. It is nitrite, amine, phosphate, borax and silicate free. When used at the recommended mix of 50% will protect against freezing and corrosion. It is suitable for use with hard water. The product is suitable all cooling systems including Euro 111, 1V and V engines. Calguard 48 meets the Volvo G48 specification requirement.

Calfrost

An O.A.T. (Organic Acid Technology) antifreeze and is nitrite, amine, phosphate, borax and silicate free. Calfrost is a high specification engine coolant offering exceptionally long life and hence reduces maintenance costs. It is suitable for use with hard water. When used at 50% it will provide long term protection against freezing and is fully anti corrosion inhibited to protect all metal and flexible hose materials used in a modern engine. Calfrost is suitable all cooling systems including Euro 111, 1V and V engines.
