Optimum plus service package
In addition to supplying the Q8 range of world class lubricants we offer our customers “Optimum Plus ” the UK’s most comprehensive lubricants service package. You can elect to use the entire package, or just select those items that suit your needs.
The “Optimum Plus Service Package” is designed to add value for our customers, in the supply chain process. It has been developed over a number of years and we are continually reviewing and adding additional services, as demanded by our customers, in support of their needs.
Environmental Audits
Our experienced team will carry out an audit of all your lubricant storage facilities, both bulk and packaged and prepare a report highlighting any deficiencies that need to be addressed, in order for you to comply with the latest Environment Agency and petroleum storage regulations.
Stock Control
We can provide either manually or electronically a stock control system where it becomes our responsibility to insure that you always have product in stock and that you never run out.
Equipment Supply & Installation
We have over many years established a large data base of first class lubricant equipment suppliers and installers. We can undertake to supply, oversee installation and in some cases, finance the supply of all your lubrication equipment needs, at competitive rates. In the past we have supplied 50,000 litre fuel storage tanks to dispensing pumps, barrel taps and funnels.
Equipment supply and installation is one of our areas of expertise and this leaves you free to focus on what you do best.
Plant maintenance - Lubrication surveys
We can provide plant lubrication surveys that identify every piece of equipment that needs lubricating or greasing. From this information we provide a lubrication schedules that will break your requirements down into daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
Oil Sample Analysis
Why oil analyses? What it can do for you?
Oil analyses are vital to ensure the elimination of expensive machine failures and to extend the life of your equipment.
The main elements of analyses / condition monitoring are:
- Analyse of wear metals to give an indication of early mechanical failure, thus allowing an early detection of faults and preventing total machine failure
- Assessment of oil condition to maximise the service life of the oil
- Oil analyses to ensure correct oil has been used and that the viscosity and additive levels are correct
- Physical testing, to detect the presence of contaminants, water, fuel or a cross contamination of lubricants and to establish the cleanliness of the oil, to the appropriate standards; ISO 4406 and NAS 1638
Night Oil Analyses Sampling Programmes
A team of Optimum Engineers meet vehicles on their return to the garage after a daily service and engine oil samples are taken. Analyses are carried out on site to test for ingress of water and increase/decrease in oil viscosity.
A 5% or greater decrease in viscosity could be caused by fuel dilution and lead to premature engine failure. A 5% or greater increase in oil viscosity could be caused by poor combustion and an increase in soot loading. Both of these problems can result in wear taking place that if left unattended will lead to early engine failure.
All results are recorded and presented in a report within 24 hours. Additional samples may be sent for more detailed laboratory testing, in particular searching for metal particles in the sample, which may indicate the commencement of a component failure within the engine. Results from these tests are available within 48 hours.
The metal particle analysis has saved engines before catastrophic failure has occurred on numerous occasions, thus saving thousands of pounds in replacement and repair.
Waste Management
Optimum has joined forces with a major waste collector and can offer an environmental solution for the collection of waste material which will either be recycled or disposed of as necessary. These days well over 90% of the waste we handle is recycled. For more information on Waste Management click here.
